Accessibility Statement
Last updated: 28th May 2026
Our Commitment to Accessibility
Illumate UI is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We continually improve the user experience for everyone and apply relevant accessibility standards as part of our ongoing development.
Conformance Status
We aim to align our service with WCAG 2.1 Level AA guidelines. Conformance is currently partial — some areas of the Service meet the criteria, while others have known limitations described below.
This statement is based on a self-assessment performed by our team, using manual keyboard testing and visual inspection across supported browsers. No external accessibility audit has been performed at this time.
Accessibility Features
The following accessibility features are implemented across the Illumate UI marketing site, dashboard, account management interfaces, and generated tours:
- Semantic HTML structure (native
<button>,<a>,<input>, and form elements) for screen reader compatibility and keyboard navigation - Tab and Shift+Tab navigation through form fields, buttons, and links is supported via standard browser behavior; Enter and Space activate buttons and links as expected
- Modal dialogs and popups can be dismissed using the Escape key
- Modal focus management: when a dialog opens, focus moves to the first focusable element inside it; focus is trapped within the dialog while open (Tab and Shift+Tab cycle between the first and last focusable elements); and focus returns to the element that opened the dialog when it closes
- Generated tours support step-to-step navigation using Left and Right arrow keys (previous and next step)
- The tour completion dialog can be confirmed or closed using the keyboard (Enter, or by activating the close control)
- Visible focus indicators are shown on interactive elements (form fields, buttons, and links) during keyboard navigation
- Standard browser keyboard interactions (page scrolling with arrow keys, Page Up / Page Down, Home / End, browser shortcuts) are not overridden by the Service
- Sufficient color contrast ratios (minimum 4.5:1 for body text)
- Alternative text for meaningful images
- Responsive design that works across devices and screen sizes
- Dark mode support to reduce eye strain
Known Limitations
While we strive for accessibility across the Service, the following areas have known limitations and are being actively improved:
- Tour editor (authoring): Creating and defining hints in the visual tour editor relies on pointer-based interactions — clicking to select target elements and drag-and-drop positioning. A keyboard-only authoring workflow is not yet available.
- Generated tours — advanced interactions: Repositioning a tour bubble using its drag handle requires a mouse or touch input. Dismissing an in-progress tour with the Escape key, Tab navigation between the Back / Next / Close buttons within a tour step, and focus trap within the bubble have not been formally verified and are planned for a future release.
- Proxy-rendered content: Tours run on top of third-party website content whose accessibility is outside our control. The overall accessibility of a tour depends in part on the host website.
Assistive Technologies
Illumate UI is built with semantic HTML, which allows standard browser-based keyboard navigation to work throughout the Service. Keyboard-only navigation has been verified as part of our self-assessment.
Compatibility with screen readers, screen magnification, and other assistive technologies has not yet been formally tested. We test against modern versions of Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge.
Feedback
We welcome your feedback on the accessibility of Illumate UI. If you encounter a barrier, find a feature inaccessible, or have suggestions for improvement, we want to hear about it.
Please reach out through our Contact page. If you have an account, you can also use the feedback option available within your dashboard.
We will respond to accessibility feedback within a reasonable timeframe and work to address issues in upcoming releases. Where an immediate fix is not possible, we will explain the steps we are taking and provide a target timeline.
